Experience

I highly specialize in proofreading and giving critical feedback on Biology Extended Essays. As a high school/junior college graduate, I already have 3 years of experience in biological research and currently have an novel award-winning project under my name: Investigating the anti-proliferative properties and herbicidal potential of papaya seed flavonoids. Having attained top grades in the IBDP examinations, I also offer mentoring services in Higher Level/H2 Biology, Chemistry and Economics. I deeply take heart in the fact that I haven't had any form of tuition during my IB years. This endeavor of mine has not just exposed me to the full scale of challenges any exam-taker might face, but has also driven me to devise methods to overcome these challenges and improve exam performance. My past tutoring experiences include conducting tuition classes on English, Mathematics and Sciences for primary and secondary school students across 3 years. I have also organised and conducted fundraising initiatives and English classes for the students of Shi Pu Secondary School in Nanchang, China. ~ Research experiences/accomplishments ~ 14th Singapore Science & Engineering Fair (organized by A*STAR, MOE and SSC): Bronze - 93rd percentile nationally 2014 Biomedical Engineering Society 9th Scientific Meeting (organized by BES Singapore): Shortlisted - Unable to attend due to military conscription 2015 Singapore A*STAR Talent Search: Shortlisted 2014 National University of Singapore Yong Loo Ling Department of Surgery Conducted preliminary research on the feasibility and applications of Raman spectroscopy December 2012 Explanation of acronyms: A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research Singapore MOE - Ministry of Education Singapore SSC - Singapore Science Centre BES Singapore - Bioengineering Society of Singapore

Hobbies

I love music and cycling! During my spare time, I'd learn new songs (particularly classical music from the romantic era and 20th century) piano. I also play the double bass, but I admit it isn't as good as my piano skills haha. Cycling is cool too! I love relishing in the lush greenery of parks. It's a great way of exploring Singapore's 'hidden' places too!
