I have a BA English and isiZulu at UKZN. I did well at UKZN, earning a scholarship.
Experience
I have tutored for over 10 years for agencies and privately. I have tutored preschool to matric. I also worked at The School of Modern Montessori - a preschool and primary school - teaching primary school children (Grade 4 -6) as a parttime language teacher (Afrikaans and isiZulu). This was a 2 hourly post once a week. I received the 'Pursuit of Excellence' trophy in my final high school year for my conduct throughout my schooling years. I am a positive and enthusiastic person who brings drive and love to what I do. I really enjoy tutoring and have a love of learning and a passion for development and personal growth in all ages – both children and adults.I believe in progress and that one person’s progress and growth and learning rate may be different to another’s development. I believe that success is personal. I studied creative writing at UKZN and loved it!I have always loved english and excelled at it from primary to high school. I received 100% for my creative writing portfolio as well as receiving a few poetry/short story awards for various pieces and the English trophy in my final year at High school. I received an overall B aggregate - achieving As in English and History. I also studied Montessori (schooling) and learnt technical skills for teaching english. Although the Montessori training was for preschool children, I believe the principles of teaching english are valuable for all ages. I was elected Headgirl in my final school year - an achievement equivalent to SRC President.
